As technology becomes more sophisticated in our contemporary society, it is increasingly becoming our work, our social life and our way to relax. Digitally stitched together from photographs in and around Brisbane, the work ‘field’ is a space that, in reality, does not exist. The photographs are taken from places such as suburban parks and building sites to create an environment that is hyper-real. The detached figures seem to be caught up in their own worlds, distracted, absorbed. The work is an investigation into the changing nature of the way we interact with our environment; where that environment is becoming increasingly virtual and abstracted.
